Bringing Participants and Exhibitors Closer Together: Image Sensing Show 2021 successfully faces new challenges with an on-site event

Image Sensing Show 2021 was held at PACIFICO Yokohama Exhibition Hall D from Wednesday, June 9 to Friday, June 11, 2021, attracting 4,578 visitors over three days.

Image processing technology has become an intrinsic part of our everyday lives. Image Sensing Show 2021 is one of Japan's leading trade fairs where everything related to images and sensing can be found under one roof, from recording to analysis and image processing; systems to software; and sensing technologies.

Due to reports that some participants were hesitant to participate as a result of ongoing workplace social distancing regulations, opportunities for participants to safely meet exhibitors for business discussions were created. In this way, the distance between exhibitors and participants was reduced to a minimum while maintaining safety for all.

Also, for the first time, videos of exhibit booths taken on the day of the show were posted to the show's official website. More than half of exhibitors took advantage of this service, and many received inquiries outside of the exhibition dates.

Coronavirus Countermeasures

As the exhibition was held on-site, it was essential to make sure that all participants took necessary precautions to ensure their safe participation.

To establish a safe and secure exhibition, organizers, exhibitors, and attendees worked together to implement strict infection control measures. All exhibitors, attendees, and venue staff were asked to take their temperature, wear masks, and disinfect their hands at the venue. Disinfectant solution was placed throughout the venue, and good ventilation was maintained through air conditioning and the opening of doors.

Strict infection control measures were also taken in seminar rooms. In addition to the aforementioned measures, infection control measures in seminar rooms and halls included appropriate spacing between seats, limits on the number of attendees, and thorough disinfection of halls and podiums.
