YOKOHAMAKANKYOHOZEN CORPORATION【Kanazawa Branch】

Company Outline

Yokohama Kankyo-Hozen Corporation was established in February 1972 and received its first general waste-collection and transportation license from the City of Yokohama in March of the same year. Since then, we have been proudly serving the community by disposing of waste in strict adherence to Japan’s Waste Management Law. Under the motto “For the future and for our children,” we collect, transport, and dispose of general and industrial waste, and we recycle both organic and inorganic waste. Furthermore, in a bid to support global health, we participate in a wide range of community activities related to environmental preservation. These include the promotion of resource recycling through the FOOD LOOP project as well as measures to limit global warming through recycling.

Facility introduction

In our efforts toward converting waste into resources, our Kanazawa plant operates an intermediate treatment facility for industrial waste; a recycling-line facility that sorts, compresses, and crushes bottles, cans, and PET bottles; and a recycling facility that melts and compresses Styrofoam. In 2001, we installed a composting facility where food waste is decomposed through fermentation, creating a comprehensive system for environmental conservation that complies with the Food Recycling Law. We have also set up a laboratory for printing signage for vehicles, and we are working with schools and other organizations to create colorful designs for garbage trucks, thereby contributing to environmental awareness and bringing smiles to faces in the community.
