Craft-Beer Bike Tour
Explore Yokohama, Japan's craft-beer capital, where the finest breweries come together!
Japanese craft beer, renowned worldwide for its quality and unique flavors, has its roots in Yokohama’s Bashamichi area, the birthplace of beer culture in Japan. Hop on the Dutch-inspired Beer Bike (6 seats) for a fun brewery tour, complete with live music for passengers. Yokohama Beer Company, the city’s oldest craft brewery, operates the Beer Bike and has won multiple international awards.
Participants in this tour will learn about the FOOD LOOP project, in which brewery waste like the leftover material from malted grains is turned into compost. Participants will discover the key ingredient in this delicious beer: water sourced from the spring waters of Doshi Village in Yamanashi, the main water supply for Yokohama City. As they enjoy the beer, they will hear the story behind these local resources. Travel is by sustainable means: Beer Bike and on foot.
