Sustainability Solutions
Traditional Yukata and Kimono are sustainable forms of fashion
Yukata and Kimono are made by straight cutting, so they have fewer scraps than other garments. Even scraps are made into bags and Japanese sandals. Kimono can be worn across generations and worn-out kimono can be upcycled into things like clothing and accessories.
Sharing pictures of Yukata in a traditional Japanese garden contributes to spread of traditional culture.
The yukata dates back to the Heian period and it represents an important part of Japanese cultural heritage. Moreover, Sankeien itself is a meaningful place which conveys the essence of Japanese culture. Experiencing and sharing the information contribute to the spreading of traditional culture and its legacy.
