♦This workshop uses food sample making as an engaging way to explore Japanese food culture, craftsmanship, and responsible attitudes toward food. Participants closely observe the colors, forms, textures, and presentation of familiar dishes, gaining a deeper appreciation of the care and skill involved in communicating the appeal of food. Because the finished pieces are replicas rather than edible ingredients, they can be displayed and enjoyed for a long time as souvenirs and conversation tools.
♦During the activity, the instructor also invites participants to reflect on respecting food and reducing food loss in everyday life. Materials are prepared in appropriate quantities for each participant to support careful use during production.
